Convention buses to Atlantic City

Your staff, your district or your town’s delegation from North Jersey to the Atlantic City Convention Center and home again: the Turnpike and the Parkway down, the door the show assigns, and the coach waiting or staying over. About two and a half hours each way.

Who rides to Atlantic City

The fall conventions
01

Teachers to the NJEA Convention

The NJEA Convention runs on a Thursday and Friday in early November. A district or a local association can send its members down together on one coach instead of a lot full of cars.

02

Town officials to the League conference

The NJ League of Municipalities conference fills the center in mid-November. One coach for the mayor, the council and the staff, or a run each day from town hall.

03

Board members to the School Boards Workshop

The school boards workshop runs Monday through Thursday in late October: a day run from the district office, or down on the first day and home on the last.

04

Exhibitors and trade show teams

Booth crews to the winter trade shows, with the display cases and the banners in the luggage bays.

05

Hotel to hall

The Boardwalk hotels are about ten minutes from the center, and the Sheraton connects to it by a walking bridge, so a group staying there needs no bus between the two.

How a convention trip runs

The plan
01

The door the show assigns

The center loads and unloads buses along the inside curb out front, and its entry doors are numbered and assigned per event. We get the door from the show or the center’s event manager, and the driver has it the night before.

02

Day trip or overnight

A day run leaves early and comes home after the last session. For a two-day convention the coach stays over, using the center’s around-the-clock motor coach parking, or goes home and comes back; both are on the quote.

03

Not the garage

The center’s garage has a seven-foot clearance, too low for a coach or a high-roof van, so the coach uses the curb and the coach parking.

04

One contact, one number

One coordinator plans the run, the trip leader has the driver’s cell the night before, and a changed session time goes to one number.

How booking works

Three steps
Step 01

Send the convention, the dates and the headcount

The convention, the day or days, where the group leaves from and how many are riding.

Step 02

One all-in number the same day

Day trip or overnight, gratuity and fuel are in the number. Tolls on the Turnpike, the Parkway and the Expressway are itemized at cost.

Step 03

Approve, and it is on the calendar

Invoiced to the district, the town or the company, with driver info the day before.

Right-sized for your group

8 to 55-plus

A board of nine rides a Sprinter. A local association of 50 fills a 55-seat coach, and a big district sends two that leave together.

Sprinter Van
Up to 13 Passengers
Mini Bus
23–29 Passengers
Mini Coach
35–39 Passengers
Full Coach
55 Passengers

Bigger group? Multi-vehicle moves run as one coordinated plan with one departure time.

Questions, answered

Atlantic City Convention Center FAQ
Where do buses drop off at the Atlantic City Convention Center?
At the front of the building, along the inside curb. The center numbers its entry doors and assigns them per event, so we confirm the door with the show or the center’s event manager before the date.
How long is the drive from North Jersey?
About two and a half hours from Bergen County or Midtown on a weekday morning and a little less from Newark and Staten Island, on the Turnpike, the Garden State Parkway and the Atlantic City Expressway.
Can the coach stay overnight?
Yes. The center offers motor coach parking around the clock, so for a two-day convention the coach can stay with the group, or go home and come back. Both options are on the quote.
When are the big conventions?
The school boards workshop is in late October, the NJEA Convention in early November and the League of Municipalities conference in mid-November. Send the dates from the show’s own site and we price the run.
Can this be invoiced to the company?
Yes. The quote is one all-in number with gratuity and fuel in it and tolls itemized at cost; a 25 percent deposit holds the date and the balance is invoiced seven days out, by card, ACH or check. NET terms and POs are available for established accounts.
Can you provide a certificate of insurance?
Yes. We provide COIs on request and can name your company as additional insured where your contract or the event requires it.
Who operates the bus?
A licensed motor carrier from our network, under its own authority and $5M liability insurance. Glyde arranges and coordinates the trip, and the operating carrier and its USDOT number are on your confirmation. You deal with one contact and one number throughout, and the driver’s cell reaches you the night before.

Price the convention trip

The convention, the dates and the headcount are enough to price a day trip or an overnight.
