Group buses to Kalahari in the Poconos

A company to the convention center, a team to a retreat, or a school or camp group to the indoor waterpark: out I-80 over the Delaware Water Gap, about two hours from North Jersey, with the coach waiting or staying over. The resort runs no shuttle of its own.

Who rides to Kalahari

Group trips
01

Conventions and conferences

The convention center has 205,000 square feet and 33 meeting rooms, with 977 guest rooms upstairs, so a conference can run for days without anyone leaving the building. One coach from the office, and home on the last day.

02

Company retreats

A leadership offsite or a whole-company retreat: everyone leaves together, works on the ride out, and the coach stays for the weekend or comes back for the ride home.

03

School and camp waterpark days

Waterpark group tickets start at 20 guests and are booked and paid ahead with the resort. A day trip leaves early and is home in the evening.

04

Teams and youth groups

Sports teams, scout troops and youth groups on a tournament weekend or a reward trip, with the bags in the luggage bays.

05

No resort shuttle

Kalahari says plainly that it does not offer shuttle service, and its valet is for cars. A group without its own bus is a line of cars on I-80.

How a Kalahari trip runs

The plan
01

Out I-80, over the Water Gap

About two hours from Bergen County or Newark and a little more from Midtown or Staten Island on a weekday morning, out I-80 and over the Delaware Water Gap toll bridge into Pennsylvania. Tolls are itemized at cost.

02

The drop is set with the resort

Kalahari publishes no bus drop-off or bus lot, so we confirm where the coach drops and waits with the resort’s group or event office before the date.

03

Lunches stay on the bus

Outside food and coolers are not allowed anywhere in the resort, so a school or camp group’s packed lunches stay on the bus, or the day is planned around the resort’s food.

04

Day trip or overnight

A day run leaves early and comes home in the evening. For a convention or a retreat the coach stays over, or goes home and comes back; both are on the quote.

How booking works

Three steps
Step 01

Send the dates, the group and the headcount

Convention, retreat or waterpark day: the dates, where the group leaves from and how many are riding.

Step 02

One all-in number the same day

Day trip or overnight, gratuity and fuel are in the number. Tolls, including the Delaware Water Gap bridge, are itemized at cost.

Step 03

Approve, and it is on the calendar

Invoiced to the company, the school or the camp, with driver info the day before.

Right-sized for your group

Questions, answered

Kalahari Poconos FAQ
Where do buses drop off at Kalahari?
Kalahari publishes no bus drop-off or bus lot, so we confirm the drop and where the coach waits with the resort’s group or event office before the date.
How long is the drive?
About two hours from Bergen County or Newark, and a little more from Midtown or Staten Island, on a weekday morning.
Can the coach stay for a multi-day convention?
Yes. The coach and driver stay over, or go home and come back for the ride home, whichever prices better for the dates. Both are on the quote.
Can students bring packed lunches?
Not into the resort. Kalahari does not allow outside food or coolers anywhere on the property, so plan the meals with the resort when you book the group.
Can this be invoiced to the company?
Yes. The quote is one all-in number with gratuity and fuel in it and tolls itemized at cost; a 25 percent deposit holds the date and the balance is invoiced seven days out, by card, ACH or check. NET terms and POs are available for established accounts.
Can you provide a certificate of insurance?
Yes. We provide COIs on request and can name your company as additional insured where your contract or the event requires it.
Who operates the bus?
A licensed motor carrier from our network, under its own authority and $5M liability insurance. Glyde arranges and coordinates the trip, and the operating carrier and its USDOT number are on your confirmation. You deal with one contact and one number throughout, and the driver’s cell reaches you the night before.

Price the Kalahari trip

The dates, the headcount and where the group leaves from are enough to price a day trip or an overnight.
