Philadelphia is a comfortable day trip from here, and the city is clear about buses: they load at set places, park at a bus center, and do not wait on the street.
Groups load at the Independence Transportation Center on Race Street between 5th and 6th, at the north end of Independence Mall, with 10 to 15 minutes to load.
Buses may not park on city streets in Philadelphia. Between drops the coach waits at the Callowhill Bus Center and comes back at the set time.
The Franklin Institute’s drop is on 20th Street, with ten minutes to load and no bus parking, so the coach drops, goes to the bus center and returns.
School groups request Independence Hall tickets at least two weeks ahead, and the Liberty Bell needs no tickets. The Franklin Institute asks for six weeks, with one adult 21 or older for every ten students.
Spot time is set ahead of departure, and the teacher and the driver have each other’s cell the night before. The arrival is timed to your Independence Hall entry.
About an hour and three quarters from Staten Island, about two hours from Newark and a little more from Bergen County or Midtown on a weekday morning, down the New Jersey Turnpike. Tolls are itemized at cost.
Independence Mall, the Franklin Institute, lunch: each stop is a legal drop, and between them the coach waits at the bus center, never idling on a street.
The ride home leaves on the schedule the school sets, and the teacher gets a heads-up when the bus is ten minutes out.
The trip date, students and chaperones, the school address, and the time on your confirmation if you have it.
Gratuity and fuel are in the number and tolls are itemized at cost: one price a business office or PTA can approve.

A class of 25 with its chaperones rides a mini coach. Two classes with chaperones, up to 55, fill a full coach.
The whole grade? Several buses leave the school together and arrive together, coordinated as one trip.
