Each vehicle is checked before it rolls — not after the kids are loaded.
Every trip runs insured. A certificate of insurance is available for your school or organization on request.
Liberty Science Center sits in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, across the water from Lower Manhattan, and school groups are a big part of its year. The bus side of the day is simple, because the center has its own bus lot.
The center’s lot holds up to 60 buses with head-in parking, for a per-bus daily fee. If it fills, the parking kiosk directs the overflow.
Buses come in off New Jersey Turnpike Exit 14B from Manhattan or Exit 14C from everywhere else, the routes the center itself publishes.
The drop-off by the entrance, off Phillip Street, is kept for guests with special needs, so most groups walk in from the bus lot. Tell us if anyone riding needs the closer drop.
The center’s hours change through the year and school visits are booked with the center directly, so lock the date with the center first, then the bus.
Spot time is set ahead of departure, and the teacher and the driver have each other’s cell the night before. The departure is timed to your entry time with the center.
About half an hour from Staten Island, Newark or Midtown and about 45 minutes from Bergen County on a weekday morning, on the Turnpike to Exit 14B or 14C. Tolls are itemized at cost.
Round trips are quoted with the wait built in. The bus stays in the center’s lot and the driver stays with it, so the ride home starts when the class is back outside.
The return is timed to the bell, and the teacher gets a heads-up when the bus is ten minutes out.
The trip date, students and chaperones, the school address, and the time on your confirmation if you have it.
Gratuity and fuel are in the number and tolls are itemized at cost: one price a business office or PTA can approve.
Driver info the day before, one contact the morning of, and the bus at the school before the bell.
A class of 25 with its chaperones rides a mini coach. Two classes with chaperones, up to 55, fill a full coach.
The whole grade? Several buses leave the school together and arrive together, coordinated as one trip.
“Top notch service, we will definitely be riding with Glyde again.”
The date, the headcount and the school address are enough to price the day.
