Funeral and repast transportation

The day of a service has a lot of moving parts: relatives arriving from out of town, the service at the funeral home or the church, the cemetery, and the repast after. Glyde runs Sprinters, mini buses and coaches for families across North Jersey, the five boroughs and Long Island, so the people who should be together can ride together — a clean vehicle with a professional driver, on the schedule the family and the funeral director set. Rates run $200 to $300 per hour with a 5-hour minimum. Call (844) 459-3329 or send the form; funeral requests are quoted the same day.

Service, cemetery, repast

The day’s legs

To the service

Family picked up at a home or a hotel and brought to the funeral home, the church or the chapel together.

To the cemetery

From the service to the cemetery for the burial, on the funeral director’s schedule.

To the repast

From the cemetery to the restaurant, the hall or the house where the family gathers, and home again after.

Family from out of town

Relatives arriving at Newark, LaGuardia, JFK or Penn Station picked up and brought to the hotel or the service.

Working with the funeral home

Who arranges

The funeral director already holds the day’s schedule. A family member can book the bus directly, or ask the funeral home to send the request; either way the times come from the funeral director, and the driver keeps to them.

One contact for the family. One person gets the quote, and the driver’s name and cell before the day, so nobody else has to manage it.

Short notice is normal. Most services are arranged within a few days. Send the date, the times and the addresses, and availability is confirmed the same day.

Planning the day

Set to your schedule

Most funeral days are one booking from the first pickup to the last drop-off: the service, the cemetery and the repast, with the bus waiting at each. Tell us where the family starts, the service time and where the repast is; the schedule is built from that.

When the service is less than a week away, the full amount is paid at booking; further out, a 25% deposit holds the date. The quote states every hour the bus is reserved. The quote you approve is the invoice you get.

Vehicles and what it costs

8 to 55 seats

Count the people riding, not everyone attending. A family of twenty fits a mini bus; fifty family and friends fill a full coach.

Vehicle Seats Rate
Sprinter Van up to 13 passengers from $200/hr
Mini Bus 23–29 passengers $200–300/hr by size
Mini Coach 35–39 passengers $200–300/hr by size
Full Coach 55 passengers up to $300/hr

Rates are $200 to $300 per hour by vehicle size with a 5-hour minimum per vehicle, billed garage-to-garage: the drive to your first pickup, every leg, the wait between them, and the return. Every quote includes 10% gratuity and a 5% fuel charge up front; tolls are itemized at cost. Days that run past 10 hours switch to a full-day rate. Exact per-vehicle rates are on the Pricing Guide.

How it works

Four steps

1. Send the details

The date, where the family starts, the service, the cemetery and the repast, and how many people ride. The funeral home’s schedule is enough to start.

2. A quote within a day

One itemized number: base hours, 10% gratuity and 5% fuel already in, tolls listed at cost. No account, no deposit to see it.

3. A 25% deposit holds the date

Approve the quote and place the deposit; the vehicle and driver are reserved. The balance is due seven days before the trip.

4. Driver info the night before

You get the driver’s name and cell by email the evening before, with every pickup restated. The funeral director gets the same information.

FAQ

How soon can you confirm?
The same day, once we have the date, the times and the addresses. Call (844) 459-3329 or send the form.
Does the bus wait at the cemetery?

Can the funeral home arrange it for us?
Yes. The funeral director can send the request and the schedule; the quote goes to whoever is paying.
How is it paid?
When the service is less than a week away, the full amount is paid when you book, by card or Zelle. Further out, a 25% deposit holds the date and the balance is due seven days before.
