Group buses to Sight & Sound in Lancaster

A Sight & Sound trip is a full day for a church, a senior center or a school: an early start from home, a matinee in Lancaster County, often lunch on the way, and the same coach home. Glyde runs mini coaches and coaches from North Jersey, Staten Island and the boroughs. JOSHUA runs through 2026 and JONAH from March 2027, with weekday matinees at 11 and 3 most weeks. Groups book tickets from 15 people through the theater; we handle the bus.

The theater day

Four moves

An early start

About three hours each way, so the bus is at the church or the center early enough to arrive 45 minutes before the show, the theater’s own rule, since the doors close at curtain.

The theater’s traffic team

Sight & Sound has plenty of bus parking and a traffic team that directs coaches on arrival. It asks school bus and motorcoach groups to let it know they are coming, and we do.

Lunch on the way

Many groups add lunch in Lancaster County before or after the show. Stops go on the plan, timed around the matinee.

Home the same day

After the matinee the coach heads straight home, so even a 3 o’clock show has the group back the same evening.

Churches, seniors, schools

Who rides

Most Sight & Sound groups are churches and senior centers, with schools and youth groups too, and the day is planned for them: unhurried boarding, comfort stops on a long drive, and a driver who waits.

One contact, one number. The group leader gets one quote and one contact. The driver’s name and cell come the night before.

A full day, one rate. A theater day in Lancaster runs past ten hours, so it is quoted as one full-day rate, travel time included.

Planning the day

Set to your schedule

Weekday matinees run at 11 and 3 most weeks, with Sunday and Monday dark. For an 11 o’clock show the bus leaves around 6:30 in the morning; a 3 o’clock show leaves room for lunch first.

Federal limits on a driver’s hours shape a day this long, and the plan is built inside them. Turnpike tolls are itemized at cost. The quote you approve is the invoice you get.

Vehicles and what it costs

8 to 55 seats

Count the people riding. A church group of 30 rides a mini coach; a senior center trip of 50 fills a full coach.

Vehicle Seats Rate
Sprinter Van up to 13 passengers from $200/hr
Mini Bus 23–29 passengers $200–300/hr by size
Mini Coach 35–39 passengers $200–300/hr by size
Full Coach 55 passengers up to $300/hr

Rates are $200 to $300 per hour by vehicle size with a 5-hour minimum per vehicle, billed garage-to-garage: the drive to your first pickup, every leg, the wait between them, and the return. Every quote includes 10% gratuity and a 5% fuel charge up front; tolls are itemized at cost. Days that run past 10 hours switch to a full-day rate. Exact per-vehicle rates are on the Pricing Guide.

How it works

Four steps

1. Send the details

The show date and time, where the group leaves from, and how many people ride. Your theater confirmation if you have it.

2. A quote within a day

One itemized number: base hours, 10% gratuity and 5% fuel already in, tolls listed at cost. No account, no deposit to see it.

3. A 25% deposit holds the date

Approve the quote and place the deposit; the vehicle and driver are reserved. The balance is due seven days before the trip.

4. Driver info the night before

You get the driver’s name and cell by email the evening before, with every pickup restated. The group leader gets the same information.
