Medieval Times Lyndhurst · Group Trips

A bus to Medieval Times from NYC and North Jersey

Medieval Times’ New Jersey castle sits in Lyndhurst, less than 13 miles from New York City, and it is one of the easiest group nights to plan: a two-hour tournament with a four-course feast, and free bus parking at the castle. Glyde arranges Sprinters, mini coaches and full coaches from Manhattan, the boroughs, Staten Island and North Jersey for birthdays, company outings, church and youth groups, scout troops and camps. The castle books groups from 15 people; we handle the bus.

The castle night

Four moves

One pickup

The bus collects the group at one address in the city, on Staten Island or in North Jersey, or makes a short round of pickups. The driver’s name and cell come the night before.

Timed to the gates

The castle opens its gates 60 minutes before showtime, so the arrival is timed to the gates, with room to find the group’s seats before the first joust.

Parked at the castle

Medieval Times offers free on-site bus parking, and in Lyndhurst the parking wraps around the castle. The bus parks there and the driver waits through the tournament.

Home together

When the show lets out, the bus is in the lot. One drop-off or a few on the way home, and the group leader has one contact for the whole night.

Birthdays to company nights

Who rides

Most castle groups are celebrations and outings: a birthday with the whole family, a team night out, a church or youth group, a scout troop, a camp day. Medieval Times books groups from 15 people, and the bus runs the night the same way for each.

One contact, one number. The group leader gets one quote and one contact, and the driver’s name and cell come the night before.

Private shows for big groups. For a large company outing, the castle can reserve a private show, and several buses arrive and leave together on one plan.

Planning the night

Set to your schedule

Public shows in Lyndhurst run mostly on evenings and weekends, and the castle sets the times. The departure is set from your show time, with the gates opening an hour before, and the night inside runs about two hours.

On a weekend it is about 20 minutes from Midtown or Newark, half an hour from Morris County and 35 minutes from Staten Island. A weekday evening departure allows for the rush: about 45 minutes from Midtown and about an hour from Morris County or Staten Island. Tolls are itemized at cost. The quote you approve is the invoice you get.

Vehicles and what it costs

Up to 55 seats

Count the people riding. A family birthday of 13 fits a Sprinter, a group of 30 a mini coach, and a company night of 55 a full coach.

Vehicle Seats Rate
Sprinter Van up to 13 passengers from $200/hr
Mini Bus 23–29 passengers $200–300/hr by size
Mini Coach 35–39 passengers $200–300/hr by size
Full Coach 55 passengers up to $300/hr

Rates are $200 to $300 per hour by vehicle size with a 5-hour minimum per vehicle, billed garage-to-garage: the drive to your first pickup, every leg, the wait between them, and the return. Every quote includes 10% gratuity and a 5% fuel charge up front; tolls are itemized at cost. Days that run past 10 hours switch to a full-day rate. Exact per-vehicle rates are on the Pricing Guide.

How it works

Four steps

1. Send the details

The show date and time, where the group leaves from, and how many people ride. Your Medieval Times confirmation if you have it.

2. A quote within a day

One itemized number: base hours, 10% gratuity and 5% fuel already in, tolls listed at cost. No account, no deposit to see it.

3. A 25% deposit holds the date

Approve the quote and place the deposit; the vehicle and driver are reserved. The balance is due seven days before the trip.

4. Driver info the night before

You get the driver’s name and cell by email the evening before, with every pickup restated. The group leader gets the same information.
