The venue publishes covered valet parking, and the Governors Room has an elevator straight from the parking corridor.
Most couples set up blocks in Downtown Brooklyn and DUMBO: the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, the Ace Hotel, the Hilton Brooklyn and the Sheraton, 15 to 20 minutes away by Columbia Street or the BQE. The Lodge Red Hook is local. Lower Manhattan blocks at the Conrad, the Four Seasons Downtown or the Marriott Downtown come through the Battery Tunnel in 20 to 30 minutes.
We have run Red Hook, and it is the easiest coach neighborhood in Brooklyn: wide streets built for trucks, no subway, and a venue with its own covered parking. The coach comes down Van Brunt or Columbia Street, drops at the Conover Street entrance and waits on the pier-side streets outside. Because there is no train, the shuttle is how the guest list gets home. Your coordinator has the driver’s cell the morning of.
A 400-guest dinner is two or three 55-seat coaches on a stagger, or one coach on two Downtown Brooklyn runs 15 minutes apart.
