The restaurant publishes valet for dining reservations and asks that arriving guests be driven all the way down the cobblestone driveway to its front door.
Most couples set up blocks in DUMBO and Downtown Brooklyn: 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, five minutes away, the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, the Hilton Brooklyn, the Sheraton Brooklyn and the Aloft, 10 to 15 minutes. Manhattan blocks come over the Brooklyn Bridge in 15 to 25 minutes, or through the Battery Tunnel with a toll.
The River Café sits under the Brooklyn Bridge at the foot of Old Fulton Street, and the streets around it are tight and narrow, so we recommend a Sprinter or a mini bus: it takes guests down the cobblestone driveway to the front door, as the restaurant asks, instead of leaving them to walk from Old Fulton Street. If you want the bigger coaches, we run them too and stage them across the street from Ignazio’s Pizza at the top of the driveway. Your coordinator has the driver’s cell the morning of.
A hundred guests is one 27-seat mini bus on four runs from a DUMBO hotel five minutes away, or two Sprinters running together; a 55-seat coach on two runs works when the guest list is in one hotel. Return runs start at your contracted end and loop until the last guest is back. Bridge and tunnel tolls are itemized on the quote at cost; the Brooklyn Bridge is free.
