Planning a shuttle to Tavern on the Green

Central Park West, Manhattan

The venue

Tavern on the Green sits just inside Central Park at West 67th Street, with up to 400 seated across the indoor rooms and the garden, and the ceremony indoors or out. Validated parking is at a nearby garage, and the venue says guests can be dropped directly in front of the entrance by the park access road off Central Park West.

Where guests stay

Columbus Circle and Central Park South are the close blocks, the Park Hyatt, the JW Marriott Essex House, the Park Lane and 1 Hotel Central Park about 5 minutes. The Upper West Side (the Empire, the Arthouse, the Beacon, the Wallace) is about 10, and Midtown (the Plaza, the Peninsula, the Whitby, the Conrad Midtown) about 10.

How we plan it

The coach comes in through the Lincoln Tunnel and up Tenth and Amsterdam, drops at the entrance by the West 67th Street access road, which we confirm with the events team for a full-size coach, and waits off the park between runs, pulling up on your coordinator’s call. West 67th is above the congestion zone, and a Midtown pickup below 60th adds the toll at cost. Your coordinator has the driver’s cell the morning of.

Timing and vehicles

The hotels are close enough that a 400-guest room is two 55-seat coaches on loops from Central Park South, or three on a stagger. First pickups are timed so guests are seated 20 minutes before the ceremony, and the last coach waits off the park through the send-off.

The day, handled

What your guests get
01

Out-of-town guests can’t get lost

Everyone leaves the hotel together and reaches the venue at the same time. No wrong address in the GPS, no cousin from Ohio missing the ceremony.

02

Grandparents don’t cross a lot in heels

Guests are dropped at the door, not in a field three blocks away.

03

Rain doesn’t ruin the look

Climate-controlled and door-to-door, so hair, makeup, gowns, and suits arrive exactly how they left.

04

The open bar isn’t a liability

Guests celebrate, then ride back to the hotel safely. We run the end-of-night route, not just the arrival.

05

Arrivals on your schedule

One wave or staggered by group, however you’ve planned the timing with your coordinator and venue.

06

One shuttle or a fleet

A van for the bridal party, a full coach for the whole guest list, or several moving in sync.

“We booked this company for a wedding shuttle from Arlo Williamsburg to Weylin, and they nailed it. The pickup process was super organized, which made things easy for guests who weren’t familiar with the area.”
