Personal vehicles are not allowed in the park, and vehicle access for events is by permit through the venue’s events team.
The Upper East Side is the close block, the Mark, the Carlyle, the Surrey and the Pierre about 5 minutes from the park entrance. Central Park South (the Plaza, the Park Lane, the Essex House, the Ritz-Carlton) is about 10, and the Upper West Side (the Mandarin Oriental, the Empire, the Arthouse) about 15 around the park.
Guests enter the park at East 72nd and Fifth and the venue’s own in-park shuttle carries them to the Boathouse, so our coach makes a rolling drop on Fifth Avenue at 72nd and waits on East 72nd east of Fifth, never idling by the park wall. If the events team pulls a vehicle permit for the coach, the drop moves inside, which we settle at booking. Your coordinator has the driver’s cell the morning of.
A full Lake Room is one 55-seat coach on two short runs from the Upper East Side, or two mini coaches on loops. First pickups are timed for the walk in, so guests are at the Boathouse 20 minutes before the ceremony, and the last coach waits at the curb on East 72nd for the send-off.
