The Grand Ballroom seats 300, the ceremony is at the windmill house, on the private beach or in the courtyard, and the estate has three lots with complimentary valet at the front door.
The venue’s own hotel list is the Riverhead cluster on Route 58: the Hilton Garden Inn, the Holiday Inn Express, the Hotel Indigo East End and the Residence Inn East End, about 15 minutes away. The Hyatt Place East End in downtown Riverhead is also about 15, the Inn and Spa at East Wind in Wading River about 12, and a Manhattan hotel is about 100 minutes by coach.
The LIE runs the whole way east with no parkway on the route: the coach comes off at exit 71, Edwards Avenue north to Sound Avenue and east to Fox Hill Drive, or from the Route 58 hotels by way of exits 72 and 73. Sound Avenue is a two-lane farm road, so the driver takes it easy. We drop at the front door where the valet works and the coach waits in one of the three lots. Your coordinator has the driver’s cell the morning of.
A full ballroom is one 55-seat coach on two runs from Route 58, or two coaches on a stagger; from Manhattan figure one coach per 50 guests as a full-day booking. First pickups are timed so guests are at the windmill 20 minutes before the ceremony, and the last coach waits through the send-off.
