The Grand Ballroom seats 500 at rounds and up to 650 for a reception, the ceremony is in the Rotunda, the Grand Salon or the English Garden, and the hotel’s 269 rooms take the block. Valet is complimentary and the hotel lists bus parking among its options.
Most guests stay in the hotel itself, so the shuttle is usually a church transfer or the city run. The Hampton Inn Garden City is about 5 minutes, the Carle Place and Westbury hotels (the SpringHill Suites, the Homewood Suites, the Courtyard Westbury, the Viana) about 10, the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale about 10, and a Manhattan hotel about 40.
Coaches use the LIE to exit 39, Glen Cove Road south, or Northern Boulevard and Old Country Road, then Clinton Road to Seventh Street; the Meadowbrook and the Northern State that cars use are closed to buses. The hotel has an east and a west entrance, so we confirm with the catering office which door the coach uses and where it waits, and if the front drive is tight the coach drops curbside and lays over nearby. Your coordinator has the driver’s cell the morning of.
A full Grand Ballroom is two or three coaches on a stagger; a church transfer is one 55-seat coach per 50 guests on two runs. From Manhattan the coach is a full-day booking. First pickups are timed so guests are seated 20 minutes before the ceremony, and the last coach waits through the send-off.
