Planning a shuttle to Prospect Park Picnic House

Prospect Park, Brooklyn
✕

The venue

The Picnic House is the Prospect Park Alliance’s venue on the Long Meadow, inside the park behind Litchfield Villa near the 5th Street entrance off Prospect Park West. It seats 175 for dinner and dancing or 240 for a cocktail-style reception, with the ceremony indoors in front of the French doors or outdoors on the lawn south of the house. Guest parking is the small Litchfield Villa lot, and renters get ten vehicle permits for the closed park roads and the lot outside the house.

✕

Where guests stay

Park Slope is the close block, about eight minutes: Hotel Le Bleu on 4th Avenue and the Comfort Inn Prospect Park. Downtown Brooklyn (the Sheraton Brooklyn, the Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown) is about 15 minutes, and a Midtown Manhattan hotel about 35. Because the house sits inside the park, a coach from the block is how most guests get in and out.

✕

How we plan it

We have run this venue several times this season. The coach enters the park from Flatbush Avenue at the carousel entrance, on the park drive, and comes up to the house only when it is time to load, so it never sits in front of the building while the reception is running. We confirm the timing and the permit for the park road with your planner and the Alliance the week before, and we ask planners in advance to keep the boarding area outside the house clear at the end of the night. From Manhattan our driver takes the Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridge to Flatbush Avenue.

✕

Timing and vehicles

A full house is one 55-seat coach on three runs from Park Slope or Downtown Brooklyn, or a 35-seat mini coach on loops, which is the size that moves easiest on the park drive. First pickups are timed so guests are on the lawn 20 minutes before the ceremony, and the last coach waits through the send-off.

What your guests get
01

Out-of-town guests can’t get lost

Everyone leaves the hotel together and reaches the venue at the same time. No wrong address in the GPS, no cousin from Ohio missing the ceremony.

02

Grandparents don’t cross a lot in heels

Guests are dropped at the door, not in a field three blocks away.

03

Rain doesn’t ruin the look

Climate-controlled and door-to-door, so hair, makeup, gowns, and suits arrive exactly how they left.

04

The open bar isn’t a liability

Guests celebrate, then ride back to the hotel safely. We run the end-of-night route, not just the arrival.

05

Arrivals on your schedule

One wave or staggered by group, however you’ve planned the timing with your coordinator and venue.

06

One shuttle or a fleet

A van for the bridal party, a full coach for the whole guest list, or several moving in sync.

“We booked this company for all-day bridal party transportation, ending the night at Nicotra’s Ballroom in Staten Island, and it was one of the best decisions we made.”

“We booked this company for a wedding shuttle from Arlo Williamsburg to Weylin, and they nailed it. The pickup process was super organized, which made things easy for guests who weren’t familiar with the area.”

Questions, answered

Prospect Park Picnic House FAQ
Do you have a minimum number of hours?
Yes — a 5-hour minimum applies. Your quote reserves a dedicated bus and driver for your date — no shared rides, no surprises. The full billing breakdown is on the pricing page.
How do you plan the pickup and drop-off at Prospect Park Picnic House?
We have run this venue several times this season. The coach enters the park from Flatbush Avenue at the carousel entrance, on the park drive, and comes up to the house only when it is time to load, so it never sits in front of the building while the reception is running. We confirm the timing and the permit for the park road with your planner and the Alliance the week before, and we ask planners in advance to keep the boarding area outside the house clear at the end of the night. From Manhattan our driver takes the Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridge to Flatbush Avenue.
Can you cover both the trip to Prospect Park Picnic House and the rides back?
Yes. Most Prospect Park Picnic House weddings book a coordinated plan — guests from the hotel blocks to the venue, then return runs after the reception. The last coach waits, so nobody is stranded when the night runs long.
What if my guest count changes?
That’s normal. A rough number is fine to start; we confirm the final count two weeks out and adjust the vehicle plan if needed.
Which hotels do guests usually stay at for Prospect Park Picnic House weddings?
Park Slope is the close block, about eight minutes: Hotel Le Bleu on 4th Avenue and the Comfort Inn Prospect Park. Downtown Brooklyn (the Sheraton Brooklyn, the Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown) is about 15 minutes, and a Midtown Manhattan hotel about 35. Because the house sits inside the park, a coach from the block is how most guests get in and out.
When should we book a wedding shuttle for Prospect Park Picnic House?
Four to eight months out is typical for peak Saturday dates, around the time your hotel-block counts firm up. Closer dates can often still be covered — ask before assuming.
