The HayLoft seats 40 to 260 guests and the main dining room 125, with the ceremony outdoors in the courtyard in good weather. Guests park in the two visitor lots behind the restaurant. Late-night rides are scarce out here, which is why couples bring a coach for the hotel runs and the city return.
Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow are the close blocks, about 10 minutes: Tarrytown House Estate, the Westchester Marriott, the Sheraton Tarrytown, the Courtyard and the Sleepy Hollow Hotel on Route 9. Downtown White Plains (the Sonesta, the Cambria, the Hyatt House, the Opus) is about 15 minutes, Hotel Nyack about 20, and a Manhattan hotel about 45.
Four of the venue’s five published driving routes use the Saw Mill or the Sprain, both closed to buses, so the coach takes the Cuomo Bridge or I-287 to exit 9, Route 9 north through Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, then Route 448 east two miles to the gatehouse on the right. Route 448 is a two-lane country road, so we confirm the drop and where the coach waits with the events team the week before, drop at the gatehouse and wait in the visitor lot.
