How much does a wedding shuttle cost in New Jersey?

Most transportation sites make you fill out a form to learn a starting price. Here is the number first. For the standard job — guests picked up at the hotel before the ceremony and brought back after the reception — a dedicated guest shuttle in New Jersey lands between about $1,900 and $2,900 all-in for most weddings, depending on bus size and how long the day runs. Below: the rates, two real layouts priced to the dollar, the full-day rate for long days, and how to size the bus.

The full-day rate — when the day runs long

Days over 10 hours

Noon hotel pickups, ceremony, photos, reception, and a last run to the hotel at 10:30 is a 12-hour day for the bus. We don’t price that by the hour. Once a booking runs past 10 hours garage-to-garage, it switches automatically to our full-day rate — 10 hours of service with our travel time included, covering up to 12 hours garage-to-garage.

On a Mini Coach that day is base $2,500 + gratuity $250 + fuel $125 = $2,875 all-in, about $82 per guest for a bus that is theirs from noon to the end of the night. The full-day rate is never more than the hourly math would have been; past 12 hours, the hourly rate applies in 30-minute increments.

What moves the number

Four levers

Hours, not headcount

The bill follows the window the bus is reserved, not the number of seats filled. A tight schedule saves more than a smaller bus.

Where the venue is

Billing is garage-to-garage from Little Ferry. Bergen, Passaic and Hudson County venues are close and bill accordingly; Shore and Long Island venues carry more travel time.

Guests in Manhattan

Pickups below 60th Street add the NYC congestion toll ($14.40 per entry, passed through at cost) and a river crossing, itemized on the quote.

How many hotels

If the hotel-to-venue run is short, one bus loops comfortably. Longer runs, or several hotels spread out, usually mean a second vehicle rather than a bigger one.

How many shuttles do you need?

Size to riders, not invitations

Plan on 60–75% of the guests in the hotel block actually riding. Then match riders to a vehicle:

RidersVehicleTypical all-in · 6.5 hrs of guest service
up to 14Sprinter Van≈ $1,955
up to 24Mini Bus≈ $2,199
up to 39Mini Coach≈ $2,444
up to 55Full Charter Coach≈ $2,932
150Three Full Coaches$8,797.50 · about $59 a guest

Two smaller buses looping usually beat one large bus waiting, when the run is short.

Is the hotel’s free van enough?

Usually not for a wedding block

A hotel shuttle is one 14-passenger van on a 15-minute cycle, often tied to a room minimum. Sixty guests is four or more round trips — the last group waits close to an hour and arrives after the ceremony has started.

A dedicated 35-passenger coach moves the block in one or two runs, timed to your ceremony call, and is waiting at the door when the reception ends. The quote you approve is the invoice you get.

Wedding shuttle cost questions

FAQ
Why is there a 5-hour minimum?
Your booking reserves a dedicated bus and a professional driver for the whole window — pre-trip inspection, the drive from our garage, your event, and the return. Five hours is the smallest block that covers a real wedding run, and it’s why a “15-minute ride” isn’t priced like a taxi.
Does a Saturday wedding cost more?
No. The rates above apply every day of the week.
How much is a wedding shuttle for 10 hours?
That’s the full-day rate: 10 hours of service with our travel time included, covering up to 12 hours garage-to-garage — $2,000 to $3,000 base by vehicle, plus gratuity, fuel, and tolls at cost.
How much does a wedding shuttle cost per guest?
From the layouts above, $59 to $82 per guest for door-to-door transportation both ways — less than two Saturday-night rideshares.
What about 150 guests?
Three full-size coaches on the standard hotel-out, late-return job: $8,797.50 all-in, about $59 per guest. Two coaches plus a Mini Coach is often the better fit when hotels are spread out — we’ll size it from the hotel list.
Do you handle the return at the end of the night?
Yes — it’s the same booking. The bus stages near the venue between the drop-off and the return, and that gap is part of the garage-to-garage window rather than a second charge. On long days the full-day rate takes over automatically.
Is gratuity included?
Yes. 10% gratuity and a 5% fuel charge are built into every quote up front. What we quote is what you pay, plus itemized tolls at cost.
How does the deposit work?
25% reserves the date and the vehicle; the balance is due seven days before the wedding.
